The Issue Of House Gratification Accusations For Anies And All His Rebuttal

JAKARTA - Social media activist Denny Siregar threw the issue of Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan receiving a gift of a luxury house from a reclamation developer. This information was conveyed by Denny Siregar in his Twitter account @DennySiregar7. Denny, however, did not specify where the source of the information was.

"There is an issue @aniesbaswedan receive a home gift from a reclamation developer. Ah, is that true??" said Denny via his Twitter account.

Denny also asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to explore this information. The goal is to test whether the information is true or not. "In order not to be libelous, maybe @KPK_RI can help investigate..," Denny said.

Anies open the sound. The former Minister of Education and Culture of DKI Jakarta did not directly deny the allegations. He called on those who raised the issue to prove it firsthand.

"If mentioned (get a house) I don't need to prove. The one who should prove (should be) the accuser," Anies said at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 24.

Instead of clarifying the allegations of the house gratification, Anies asked the media crew to explore further the truth such as the location and owner of the house.

"I think friends from media can take advantage of this for critical opportunities. Because if there's news like that, you're after where it is, where it's at. What's the number," Anies said.

Vice-Chairman of the DKI DPRD from Gerindra Faction Mohamad Taufik defended Anies. According to Taufik, the issue that Denny rolled out was only limited to the expression of Denny's anger as a supporter of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). Denny is considered still unable to accept Ahok lost the 2017 DKI Election.

"Denny Siregar just has not moved on. He wants his candidate to win. That guy if he loses, his supporters, will have heartache forever. Then the winner will be considered not right," said Taufik.

It is said that the luxurious house is located in the Kebayoran Baru area. According to a post circulating, there is a luxury two-story house. The house was whitewashed with gold-twinkled ornaments. The house also looks spacious.

Through his Twitter account, Drone Emprit Founder Ismail Fahmi revealed the truth of the wild narrative. Based on his search with a number of reverse image search tools, it turns out that the photo of the luxury house was taken from a home sales advertising site.

Based on the information in the advertisement, the house is located in Cijantung, East Jakarta. The ad was last posted on July 15, 2018.
