15 People Killed And 23 Injured After Tram Slipped In Lisbon Portugal

JAKARTA - A total of 15 people were killed and 23 others injured after the tram lost control of slipping in the Lisbon area, Portugal.

Citing ABC News, Thursday, September 4, the Lisbon City Communications Department informed that of the number of injured people, 5 people were in critical condition.

For this incident, the Portuguese Prime Minister's Office (PM) declared the country mourning. The PM's office has also contacted officials at the scene for follow-up handling.

The skidded trend in the Portuguese capital took place on Wednesday, September 3 at 18:15 local time. It took two hours for the defendants to be able to handle the affected victims.

Portuguese Public Ministry officials added that a 3-year-old child was among 23 injured.

Currently, investigations related to the origin of the incident have been carried out by law enforcement.

It is suspected that the initial public transportation skidded due to a safety cable on a broken electric tram.
