Earthquake With A Magnitude Of 6.0 Guncang Wanokaka, East Nusa Tenggara

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that a number of areas in Indonesia were rocked by an earthquake on Monday night, including an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 in Wanokaka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred on March 31, 2025 at 22:54 WIB," wrote the BMKG account quoted by ANTARA in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 1 in the morning.

The earthquake, which was centered at sea at a depth of 10 kilometers about 61 kilometers southwest of Wanokaka, was at the coordinator point of 10.15 South Latitude, and 118.87 East Longitude.

Earthquake tremors were felt not only by a number of residents in Wanokaka but also in several other areas such as Waingapu, Tambaloka, Bima, and Sumbawa.

In addition to shaking Wanokaka, BMKG noted that the earthquake also occurred in a number of other areas on Monday night.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 shook East Seram, Maluku, at 22.18 WIB while Sarmi Regency in Papua was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 magnitude at 22.00 WIB.
