Minister Of Religion: Lowering Hajj Costs 2025 According To President Prabowo's Expectations

Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar said that the step to reduce the cost of Hajj in 2025 was followed by efforts to provide quality of service which did not decline, which was a direct hope from President Prabowo Subianto.

"This is President Prabowo Subianto's obsession with us, the Ministry of Religion and the BPH-Hajj Organizing Agency- how can it be worked so that the cost burden for pilgrims will come more easing without reducing the quality of the Hajj implementation," Nasaruddin said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 6.

He also said the reduction in the cost of Hajj could be achieved thanks to the cooperation between the Ministry of Religion, BPH, and the DPR in combing the unnecessary budget.

It is known that the government and the DPR Commission VIII Hajj Fee Committee (BPIH) 2025 has approved the 2025 Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) of IDR 89.4 million, and pilgrims who are prospective for Hajj pay Hajj Travel Fees (Bipih) of IDR 55.4 million per person.

"Based on the amount of BPIH, the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in 1446 Hijri/2025 AD amounted to Rp. 89,410,258.79," said Panja Chairman Abdul Wachid while reading the meeting link with the Ministry of Religion.

The meeting chaired by Abdul Wachid was also attended by Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Minister of Religion Romo Syafi'i, and the Director General of Hajj and Umrah (PHU) of the Ministry of Religion Hilman Latief.

Wachid explained that the composition of BPIH consisted of costs sourced from the value of the benefits of managing hajj per congregation, an average of Rp33,978,508.01 or 38 percent of the BPIH 2025 average.

Bipih average per congregation amounted to Rp55,431,750.78 or 62 percent of the 2025 BPIH Hajj

The costs are allocated for flight financing, congregation accommodation costs in Makkah and Medina, and living expenses.

He also said that when compared to the 2024 Hajj costs, the BPIH decreased by Rp. 4,000,027.21.

"BPIH 2024 is IDR 93,410,286 per congregation," he said.

Meanwhile, Bipih 2025 experienced a decrease of Rp614,420.82 from Bipih 2024 which was valued at Rp56,046,171.60.
