The Provincial Government of North Kalimantan has an asset inventory of Rp8.8 trillion, starting from the Kaltim grant of Rp1.24 trillion.

TANJUNG SELOR - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) has begun a thorough inventory of regional assets, which are now worth around Rp. 8.8 trillion. This step was taken to ensure that all assets are accurately recorded and strengthen the management of Regional Property (BMD).

Acting Head of the Regional Finance and Asset Agency (BKAD) of North Maluku, Nurdin revealed that the value of assets does not only come from fixed assets such as land, buildings and buildings, but also includes cash, current assets, and various other asset components listed in the local government financial statements.

"The increase in asset values requires the government to have accurate data regarding the physical condition, legal status, and level of utilization of each asset," said Nurdin, Wednesday, July 22.

"Currently we are conducting an inventory to find out in detail the assets owned by the government, what condition they are in, whether they are still being used or are actually idle assets," he continued.

He explained that inventory was the initial stage to strengthen the management of Regional Property. Through data collection, the government will have a more complete database as a basis for formulating asset management policies.

"The results of the inventory will be a reference in development planning. The government can identify assets that are still used for public services, assets that need development, to those that can be optimized through a cooperation scheme for utilization in accordance with the provisions," he explained.

Nurdin emphasized that the inventory process was carried out gradually because the assets owned by the North Kalimantan Provincial Government were spread across all districts and cities.

"The most important thing now is that all government assets must be well recorded so that their management is more orderly, accountable, and their utilization is more optimal," he said.

Meanwhile, the Technical Reviewer of the BKAD Kaltara Policy, Otniel Roland Julius revealed that the assets, which now reach Rp. 8.8 trillion, began with the transfer of East Kalimantan Provincial Government (Kaltim) assets to the Kaltara Provincial Government after the formation of a new autonomous region.

He said, based on the Minutes of the Transfer of Assets and Government Personnel of the Province of East Kalimantan to the Government of North Kalimantan Province Number 060/5351/Org and Number 197/20/BHO/2016 dated November 4, 2016, the total assets transferred at that time amounted to IDR 1,241,453,418,157.30.

"This value is the initial capital of the Kaltara Provincial Government's assets after the expansion. Over time, assets continue to increase through the construction of infrastructure, procurement of regional goods, and the addition of other assets to date reaching around Rp. 8.8 trillion," explained Otniel.

Otniel detailed that the grant assets from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government consisted of land worth Rp. 27.62 billion, equipment and machinery worth Rp. 137.39 billion, buildings and buildings worth Rp. 58.55 billion, roads, irrigation, and networks worth Rp. 594.54 billion, other fixed assets worth Rp. 1.72 billion, and construction in progress worth Rp. 421.62 billion.

"The inventory conducted by BKAD is part of efforts to ensure that all assets that have been developed for almost a decade have accurate administrative data, legal status, and physical conditions so that they can be optimally utilized to support the implementation of government and public services," he said.
