JAKARTA - The National Association of Contractors and Construction Entrepreneurs (APPEKNAS) is expected to be able to determine the direction of the organization in the next five years through the Indonesia Construction Blueprint 2031.

This was conveyed by APPEKNAS Fandy Iood Chairman when giving a speech at the APPEKNAS National Congress (Munas) IV 2026 at the ShanKee Hotel, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Friday, August 14, 2026.

The Munas, which took place in a hybrid manner, was attended by APPEKNAS members from various regions in Indonesia. This activity carries the theme "Transforming Adaptive, Professional, and Integrated Contractor Business Entities as the Main Pillar of the Progress of the Indonesian Construction Industry".

According to Fandy, the Munas IV is not only a forum for the change of management, but also a momentum to determine the direction of the organization in the next five years.

"This congress is not only to determine the next leadership. This congress must be the starting point for a new leap for the identity of APPEKNAS," said Fandy in his speech, Friday, August 14, 2026.

He assessed that changes in the construction sector made the needs of members no longer limited to administration and certification. Business actors also need access to projects, financing, technology, business networks, and collaboration to increase business capacity.

Therefore, Fandy encouraged APPEKNAS to transform from an organization that is oriented towards activities to an organization that is oriented towards impact.

"Let's not just ask how many activities we have done. Let's start asking, how much benefit have we created," he said.

In the National Congress, APPEKNAS also introduced the direction of transformation through the Indonesia Construction Blueprint 2031. The blueprint is aimed at improving the competitiveness of members while strengthening the role of APPEKNAS in supporting national development towards Indonesia's Gold 2045.

A number of programs that have been prepared include APPEKNAS Academy or Institute, business and project marketplace, funding and investment center, as well as digital platforms and artificial intelligence (AI). APPEKNAS will also encourage the strengthening of collaboration with various partners.

Fandy emphasized the importance of role sharing between the central and regional management. The National Board of Directors is directed to build national strategies and systems, while the management at the provincial, district, and city levels is expected to be the spearhead that understands the potential and needs of construction businesses in their respective regions.

"APPEKNAS must be managed based on systems, data, governance, collaboration, and professionalism," he said.

He also reminded that positions in organizations are a trust that must be followed up with tangible results for members.

"When our term of office is over, is the APPEKNAS we leave stronger than the APPEKNAS we receive?" said Fandy.

He hopes that the APPEKNAS IV National Congress will be a momentum to strengthen the organization through one vision and direction, especially in providing more tangible benefits for members and supporting the development of the national construction industry ecosystem.
