BPJS Health Contribution Issues Increase By 2025, Minister Of Health Budi: No Need To Worry

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin asked the public not to worry about BPJS Health contributions in 2025.

"In 2025, BPJS Kesehatan based on my calculations is quite strong. So, don't worry," he said in Solo, Central Java, Sunday, December 8, confiscated by Antara,

He said that what needed to be calculated was later after 2025.

"I have calculated the BPJS Health, in 2025 there will be no shortage of money," he said.

Related to this, he and the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani are currently calculating exactly how much BPJS Health needs.

"And if there is an adjustment rate like that too," he said.

Regarding BPJS Kesehatan's financial condition, he said, all insurance companies must have made smaller claims than their premiums.

"He has to keep it. We talked about big numbers, maybe not 280 million Indonesians died or the heart, it's impossible. Income 280 million people, there is knowledge called actuarial, counting large numbers," he said.

With this calculation method, the premiums that came in were multiplied by 280 million.

"It can cover Rp2 million for heart disease, Rp1 million for cancer, Rp500 thousand for natural disasters, it has a calculation," he said.

He said if the calculation method was carried out in a disciplined manner, the execution would be good.

Previously, BPJS Kesehatan contributions were rumored to increase along with the implementation of the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS). In addition, there are issues that mention the budget deficit and default on BPJS Kesehatan which further strengthens the issue of this increase in contributions.

However, previously the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Ali Ghufron Mukti ensured that BPJS Kesehatan's net assets were still healthy, despite the risk of a deficit, and ensured that his party was smooth in paying for hospitals in 2025.

Ghufron said the high public trust and the increasingly massive use or utilization of BPJS Health services are the causes of deficit risk, of which now around 1.7 million people use the service.
