Harvey Moeis Feels Guilty Helena Lim Is In Prison

JAKARTA - The defendant in the alleged tin corruption case, Harvey Moeis, as the extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT) admitted that he felt guilty because his colleague who was also a defendant in the same case, Helena Lim, was threatened with imprisonment.

Helena was sentenced to eight years in prison and sentenced to a fine of Rp. 1 billion and an additional penalty to pay compensation of Rp. 10 billion in a case of alleged tin corruption.

"I really feel guilty to Mrs. Helena because I recommended her. She had to go to prison," said Harvey at the trial of the defendant's examination at the Jakarta Corruption Court, reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

Harvey admitted that he had recommended PT Quantum Skyline Exchange, HelenaLim's money exchange site, to the owner of the CV benefit of Venus Inti Perkasa (VIP) and PT Menara Cipta Mulia (MCM) Tamron alias Aon after several months of an agreement to collect social and environmental responsibility funds or corporate social responsibility (CSR) between four private smelters in tin corruption cases.

The four private smelters are CV Venus Inti Perkasa, PT Sarijuna Binasentosa, PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa, and PT Tinindo Inter Nusa.

At that time, he said, Tamron contacted Harvey to send CSR funds and asked for a recommendation for a money exchange site because the funds were sent in US dollars from Bangka Belitung by courier.

According to Harvey, the CSR funds sent by Tamron were given in US dollars because the contract between his party and the private smelters was agreed using US currency.

In addition to Tamron, he also admitted that he recommended exchanging money belonging to HelenaLim to other high-ranking private smelters, namely the owner of the benefits of PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa (SIP) Suwito Gunawan alias Awi and General Manager of Operations of PT Tinindo Inter Nusa (TIN) for the 2017-2020 period Rosalina.

The two of them also sent the CSR funds to Harvey, the CSR fundraiser, using US dollars.

"But, Mrs. Rosa and Pak Suwito have known Mrs. Helena from the beginning and finally used money exchange services at Mrs. Helena's place," he added.

Harvey was examined as a defendant in the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah in 2015 '2022.

The cases of alleged tin corruption include dragging Harvey Moeis as the extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT), Suparta as the President Director of PT RBT, and Reza Andriansyah as the Director of Business Development of PT RBT as the defendant.

As a result of the actions of the defendants in the alleged tin corruption case, state finances were recorded to have suffered a loss of Rp. 300 trillion.

The loss included as much as Rp2.28 trillion in the form of losses for the cooperation activities of renting processing equipment with private smelters, Rp26.65 trillion in the form of losses due to tin seed payments to mining partners of PT Timah, and Rp271.07 trillion in the form of environmental losses.

In this case, Harvey was charged with receiving Rp420 billion in cash with PT Quantum Skyline Exchange (QSE) Manager Helena Lim, while Suparta was charged with receiving a cash flow of Rp4.57 trillion from the case that cost the state finances Rp300 trillion.
