JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) Habiburokhman explained the mechanism of the first day of the fit and proper test for prospective leaders (Capim) and candidates for the supervisory board (Dewas) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

On the first day, 10 Capim KPK will take a ballot number on Monday, November 18 morning. Followed by 10 candidates for Dewas KPK in the afternoon.

"The next process, Monday morning is taking a ballot number, making a paper. Monday afternoon is the fit and proper for the 10 Capim first, then the 10 Cadewas," said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, November 15.

After that, the 10 Capim and Cadewas KPK will be given the opportunity to explain their vision and mission until the last day of the fit and proper test on Thursday, November 21. The implementation of this fit and proper test will last for four days from November 18-21, 2024.

"It will continue, maybe four or five people a day until the last date is Thursday, the 21st. So it is possible that there are demands from colleagues in Commission III for this period, that members be given as much opportunity as possible to speak for a long time," said Habiburokhman.

The Deputy Chairperson of Gerindra said that there was a slight difference in the fit and proper test for KPK Capim and Cadewas compared to the previous period. He said that 10 Capim and 10 Cadewas would be given more time than in the previous fit and proper test.

"There is something slightly different from the previous period. Like the fit and proper test for judges or constitutional judges, where one participant was only allowed one hour, this time 90 minutes, so there is flexibility. We really want these friends to seriously study the vision and mission brought by these Capim and Cadewas," said Habiburokhman.

In addition, said Habiburokhman, Commission III of the DPR will ask for public input on the candidates for KPK leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board. The input, he said, is in the form of written aspirations from the public addressed to the secretariat of Commission III of the DPR RI at the Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex.

"In addition to providing input, the public can also provide questions to us through our factions and also through fellow student factions," said Habiburokhman.

"We hope that the public can provide as much input as possible to us in conducting the fit and proper test tomorrow," said Habiburokhman.
