NTB - Police arrested the mother of killing her baby in a resident's garden in Pemepek Village, Central Lombok Regency.

"The suspect in the initials EA from Pringgara District, who is suspected of being the victim's biological mother, has been arrested," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Luk Il Maqnun in Central Lombok, Sunday, October 27, confiscated by Antara.

Luk Luk said that the baby that was dumped by the alleged perpetrator of EA was the result of an illicit relationship with his illicit lover with the initials R. So far, the perpetrator has hidden the baby's pregnancy and birth.

"The results of the information from the alleged perpetrator, the person concerned gave birth to the baby alone in the garden," he said.

When the baby was born on October 18, 2024 or when it was thrown away, he was still alive. At that time, the alleged perpetrator admitted to panic when the baby cried, then pressed the baby's chest and wrapped it in mukena so that the baby died.

"From the autopsy results, it was found that there were signs of violence on the victim's body, including bruises on the victim's body, slashes on the back of the head and neck as well as the back of the waist," said Luk Luk.

For his actions, the perpetrator is subject to articles of violence against children and / or neglect of children, as referred to in Article 76 C in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph (1), (2), (3), and paragraph (4) and / or Article 76 B jo. Article 77 B of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law no. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

"The perpetrator is subject to a penalty of 15 years plus a third if the perpetrator is a parent," he said.

Previously, residents of Pringgara Subdistrict were shocked by the discovery of a baby's body in a garden. It is suspected that the baby was deliberately thrown away by his parents because it was the result of an extramarital relationship, Friday, October 18 in the morning.

Based on this information, the officers conducted a crime scene investigation and then secured the alleged perpetrator at his home.

The perpetrator must now languish in prison to undergo legal proceedings and be held accountable for his actions because he had the heart to kill his blood.
