Strengthen Maritime Security in Kaltara, Provincial Government and TNI AL Increase Synergy

TANJUNG SELOR - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) has strengthened synergy with the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Navy to maintain maritime security in the border area while supporting accelerated development.

The commitment was emphasized by the Governor of North Maluku, Dr. H. Zainal A. Paliwang, when receiving the Commander of the Regional Command of the Navy (Kodaeral) XIII North Maluku, Rear Admiral TNI Sumarji Bimoaji, in Tanjung Selor, Thursday, July 23.

Zainal said that Kaltara's position as a province that borders directly with Malaysia makes maritime security an important priority.

"Regional stability is an important factor to maintain the smooth running of community activities, investments, and the development of strategic areas on the border," said Zainal.

Zainal said that collaboration between the regional government and the Indonesian Navy must continue to be strengthened in order to be able to anticipate various potential threats in the waters, including illegal cross-border activities.

"The synergy between the Provincial Government of North Maluku and Kodaeral XIII that has been established very well so far must continue to be maintained and improved. The Provincial Government of North Maluku is ready to support the strategic steps of the Indonesian Navy in maintaining maritime security while escorting regional development," said Zainal.

Meanwhile, the Commander of Kodaeral XIII Kaltara, Rear Admiral TNI Muda Sumarji Bimoaji, assessed that coordination with the regional government was an important part in supporting the implementation of the TNI AL's duties in the 34th Province.

"The support of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government has so far helped various TNI AL programs in the border area. We hope that this synergistic relationship will remain closely intertwined," said Lieutenant Colonel Sumarji.

"Our ranks in Kaltara must have good relations and cooperation with the Kaltara Provincial Government," he continued.

He added that the strengthening of collaboration between the Provincial Government of North Maluku and the Indonesian Navy is expected to increase the effectiveness of maritime security.

"We are strengthening surveillance of border areas, as well as creating a climate conducive to development and economic growth in Kaltara," he said.
