JAKARTA - Israel's attack on Iran will be deadly, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said when he met Israeli intelligence unit Defense Forces (IDF), during what reaction Israel would take on Iran's attacks in the spotlight.
Speaking during a visit to IDF 9900 Intelligence Unit, the unit gathering intelligence on the battlefield, Defense Minister Gallant said Iran "will not understand what happened to him, or how."
"Israel's attack on Iran would be deadly, precise and very surprising," said Defense Minister Gallant, quoted from The Times of Israel Oct. 10.
On the other hand, Defense Minister Gallant said the Iranian attacks last week were "aggressive, but they failed because they were inaccurate."
He stressed that the IAF was not harmed in the attack, all runways were operating, no aircraft were harmed, nor were there soldiers or civilians.
Iran launched an attack on Israel on October 1, a move allegedly in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas Bureau of Political Affairs Ismail Haniyeh, Secretary General Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah and senior IRGC general Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan. Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles to the military base and intelligence of the Zionist regime throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.
Israel condemned the attack and promised to retaliate. Tehran then warned Israel not to try to retaliate or to face a more assertive response.
Defense Minister Gallant said the entire Israeli security system, from soldiers on the ground to prime ministers, was in sync with the attacks on Iran: "The entire chain of command is in line and focused on this issue."
