Israel Attacks Lebanon Again, Targets Arms Warehouse

JAKARTA - The Israeli military said it launched a new attack on Lebanon last night, targeting Hezbollah's weapons storage facilities in the southern suburbs of the country's capital and southern part.

Two Hezbollah commanders responsible for missile attacks in northern Israel were also "missed" in the attack, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement reported by CNN, Thursday, October 10.

Hezbollah has yet to comment, and the level of damage is still unclear.

More than 1,500 people have been killed and 1.2 million people displaced in Lebanon since Israel launched ground attacks and intensified airstrikes this month, according to Lebanese authorities.

In a statement, the Israeli military said it had given an early warning to civilians prior to the attack in Dahiyeh, southern Beirut.

The IDF issued an emptying order for certain buildings in the Haret Hreik and Hadath areas of the Hezbollah camp on Wednesday. Israel targets an attack on the site.

On Thursday, the IDF claimed Hezbollah deliberately placed its weapons storage facilities and weapons under residential, school, mosque, and university buildings, in the heart of Beirut city, thereby endangering civilian residents in the area.
