JAKARTA - The Palembang Navy Base (Lanal) has prepared a Sea Rider with a length of seven meters during the defense equipment exhibition for the 79th TNI Birthday on Jalan Sudirman on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

"This Sea Rider usually operates in security and security patrols in the oceans and in river waters," said Operations Staff Officer (Pasops) Lanal Palembang, Marine First Lieutenant (P/W) Desi Sundari confirmed in Palembang, Friday, October 4, which was confiscated by Antara.

He added that besides that there were also trucks of AL 9160 III personnel who were also exhibited in these activities.

According to him, the Indonesian Navy only participated in the defile without performing an attraction, because the attractions would only be displayed by Army (AD) and Navy personnel.

"For the appearance of these attractions from TNI AD and AU personnel, and the Indonesian Navy only participated in the defile," he said.

Meanwhile, the Palembang City Police (Polrestabes), South Sumatra closed Jalan Sudirman during the defense equipment exhibition in celebration of the 79th TNI Birthday on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

"Yes, we will engineer traffic by closing Jalan Sudirman Palembang during the TNI Anniversary defense equipment exhibition on Saturday, October 5, 2024," said Head of Traffic for Palembang Polrestabes AKBP Yenni Diarty confirmed in Palembang, Thursday, October 3.

He explained that drivers who would pass on Jalan Sudirman to Charitas Hospital were diverted to Jl M Ari next to Moh Hussein General Hospital. Then from the direction of Charitas will be diverted to Jalan Captain Arivai Palembang.

According to him, the defense equipment parade and TNI personnel were carried out one kilometer long on Jalan Sudirman. Therefore, the police together with a joint team of 800 personnel were deployed to guard the activity.

"We have been doing rehearsals since yesterday, a dirty rehearsal and today a rehearsal is clean by closing the road for about 45 minutes and going smoothly," he said.

He appealed to residents to find other alternative ways to avoid congestion, besides that residents who want to watch the defense equipment exhibition can watch from the side of the road.

Meanwhile, the TNI Anniversary defense equipment exhibition in Palembang is scheduled for Saturday 5 October 2024 at 09.00 WIB until 11.00 WIB.
