The Value Of US And European Intelligence Is Wrong, Foreign Minister Araqchi: Iran Does Not Send Ballistic Missiles To Russia

JAKARTA - Iran's foreign minister on Wednesday reiterated that Tehran did not send ballistic missiles to Russia, saying sanctions imposed by the United States and three European countries would not solve the problem.

"Once again, the US and E3 act based on wrong intelligence and flawed logic. Iran DOES NOT send ballistic missiles to Russia. The point. Sanctions are not a solution, but part of the problem," wrote Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in an upload on X.

E3 refers to the three major European countries, Britain and France.

Last week, Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations dismissed reports of missile shipments to Russia, saying, "Iran's position on the Ukrainian conflict remains unchanged. Iran considers the provision of military assistance to parties involved in the conflict - which has led to increased casualties, infrastructure destruction, and has kept negotiations of the ceasefire - as an inhumane act," IRNA quoted.

Separately, Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations Amir-Saeed Iravani in a letter to the head of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council confirmed rejecting baseless and misleading accusations.

In his letter, Iravani called it "concernous" countries that were directly involved in the Ukraine conflict and significantly contributed to the escalation of conflicts through the provision of sophisticated weapons, bravely making such baseless claims against Iran.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Tuesday Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran and was likely to use them in Ukraine in a few weeks.

He said cooperation between Moscow and Tehran threatens Europe's wider security, he said.

Then, the United States, Germany, Britain, and France on Tuesday imposed new sanctions on Iran, including actions against its national airline, Iran Air.

Separately, the Kremlin on Wednesday dismissed reports Iran had delivered missiles to Russia, saying claims about various baseless arms transfers.
