Day 33 Indian Doctor Strikes In The Aftermath Of His Colleague Rape, Local Government Invites Discussion To Break The Stall

JAKARTA - Protests by young Indian doctors following the case of an intern being raped to death in the medical school seminar hall of RG Kar Kolkata Hospital in West Bengal (Bengal) have been going on for 33 days.

The mass of action has just rejected the invitation to discuss the Head of Bengal Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss the demands of young doctors to resolve the deadlock that occurred.

This young doctor who staged a strike protest urged the realization of justice for an intern who was raped to death at a government-owned hospital in Bengal, namely RG Kar Kolkata Hospital Medical High School on Friday, August 9, 2024 in the early hours of the morning.

After rejecting Mamata Banerjee's invitation, the number of doctors is now invited to negotiate in the Bengal State Secretariat. The Bengal local government invited 12-15 representatives of young doctors participating in the protest action for discussions at the 'Nabanna' secretariat no later than 6 pm local time.

On the one hand, the Indian Supreme Court (MA) has instructed young doctors involved in the strike to return to duty from Tuesday 10 September. The Supreme Court threatens those who do not heed the order to face losses.

In this case, the Indian police have named a civilian police officer named Sanjay Roy as a rape suspect to the death of an intern at the Medical College RG Kar Kolkata Hospital.

Meanwhile, the former Head of the Medical College RG Kar Kolkata Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, is also suspected of being involved in this case. RG Kar Kolkata Hospital Medical College under Sandip's leadership when facing the case of the murder of an intern had informed the victim of suicide.

Sandip is currently serving a judicial detention period until September 23. His detention was related to the investigation of Indian intelligence or CBI for the alleged financial deviation case at the RG Kar Kolkata Hospital Medical College, including the sale of corpses.
