Bobby Nasution's Dream To Make Kesawan City Walk Medan As Ethnic Center

MEDAN - Medan City Government emphasized that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Kesawan City Walk area must really highlight certain ethnicities.

"One of the criteria we want is food to present all ethnic groups in Medan, such as Indian, Malay, Chinese, Batak, Minang and all kinds", said the Mayor of Medan, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution in Medan, Friday, March 26.

The presence of certain ethnic foods is one of the efforts of the Medan City Government in preserving culture in the capital city of North Sumatra, and at the same time affirming Medan City "The Kitchen of Asia".

These various foods, he said, will be offered by MSME players at a six-meter booth or according to the provisions that have been regulated in the Medan City Cooperative and Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) Service.

His party still pays attention to health protocols, especially for MSMEs in Kesawan City Walk who must undergo vaccinations before the initial launch is carried out on Sunday (28/3) night.

"This is a soft launching (initial launch). We, the Municipal Government of Medan, apologize, of course, there are many shortcomings. Therefore, we continue to fix it. Why should we start this? Because it is the most difficult step", explained President Joko Widodo's son-in-law.

"In the future, MSME players must prepare all payments with 'cash plus'. Starting from the payment for the purchase of food and drinks. In fact, parking at Kesawan uses electronic money", said Bobby Nasution.

Previously, Medan City Government and Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) Medan City agreed to discuss a program to form regional regulations (Propemperda). Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution is ready to fix Medan.

There are 28 Draft Regional Regulations (Ranperda) proposed, namely 15 ranpenda from Medan City Government, Regional Regulations Draft (ranperda) initiated by the Medan DPRD, and 1 ranperda jointly proposed.

"I hope that from the 15 Ranperda that have been proposed by Medan City Government, it can achieve 5 main targets. Among them are health, cleanliness, infrastructure improvement, improvement of the Kesawan area towards Medan City, The Kitchen of Asia, and flood problems in Medan City”, said Bobby Nasution, Monday, March 8.

The signing of the concept of a joint Regional Regulation Formation Program (Propemperda) agreement was held in the plenary room of the Medan DPRD. After it is agreed that the Draft Regional Regulation in the Propemperda will be discussed so that it becomes a Regional Regulations (Perda).

"In the health sector, Medan City Government has a target to reduce the spread of COVID-19, one of which is through the vaccination program. In the field of cleanliness, we target that the waste problem will be resolved immediately. In addition, improvements in the infrastructure sector are targeted in 2 years, the problem will be resolved", said Bobby Nasution in a plenary determination of the Medan City Regional Regulation Formation Program (Propemperda) in 2021.

Meanwhile, in the cultural heritage area, Medan City Government is targeting Kesawan to be a heritage and culinary area that will make Medan even better known. The next target is to solve the flood problem in the capital city of North Sumatra Province.
