Bogor City DPRD Discourse On Raperda For Teacher Protection

The Bogor City DPRD stated that the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) proposed initiatives regarding the protection of teachers.

Chairman of Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD, Akhmad Saeful Bakhri or ASB, said that this aims in addition to providing special protection to teachers as well as improving the welfare of teachers, especially honorary teachers.

"So far, teachers have become professions that are prone to attacks and have always been used as scapegoats for educational issues. Therefore, we Bogor City DPRD for the 2019-2024 period want to give farewell gifts at the end of the term of office for teachers," he said in Bogor, Tuesday, August 20, confiscated by Antara.

ASB, who is also a member of the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda), explained the background and purpose of forming this Raperda to provide special protection to teachers, both physical and psychological protection, as well as to improve the welfare of teachers in the city of Bogor, especially honorary teachers.

"Teachers have very strategic functions, roles and positions in development in the field of education, so it is necessary to develop them as dignified professions and obtain protection guarantees in carrying out their duties," he said.

ASB, which was also raised by parents who work as teachers, felt that the Raperda proposal for an initiative on Teacher Protection was a form of bhakti and respect for her parents.

He also wants to ensure that in the future teachers in the city of Bogor can be more valued, humanized, not scapegoated, and get welfare in order to educate children in the city of Bogor.

The implementation of Teacher Protection, he said, aims to ensure the fulfillment of the role and function of teachers in implementing the national education system, in order to realize national education goals.
