Dozens Of Residents Died As A Result Of Tribal Dispute In Pakistan

JAKARTA - Dozens of residents have died in a series of tribal clashes in Pakistan over the past five days before the two warring tribes reached an agreement to make peace.

Located about 218 kilometers from the capital city of Peshawar Province, Kurram District has witnessed frequent tribal and sectarian conflicts in recent years.

The city of Parachinar in the district is one of the few areas dominated by the Shia group in Pakistan, the majority of which are from Sunni.

At least 43 people were killed and 180 others injured in a prolonged tribal dispute over a land dispute in Kurram in July this year.
