BATAM - KRI Siliman-848 TNI soldiers Tanjungpinang Navy secured two foreign ships with Panamanian flags that had an accident in the waters of Nongsa, Batam City, Riau Islands.

Head of Information Service of Fleet Command 1 Colonel (P) Yoni Nova confirmed that the security efforts were carried out on the ships MVFu Tong and MTPVT Avira.

"The chronology of the incident began with information we received that there was a sea accident on Tuesday (6/8) between the MVFu Tong ship and MTPVT Avira in Batam waters, both with Panamanian flags," Yoni said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

This information was received by KRI Siliman-848 from the Singapore Navy's Information Fusion Center (IFC) through the Koarmada I Marine Security Group.

The MVFu Tong ship left Singapore Harbor on Tuesday (6/8) and plans to sail to Rizhao Port, China.

Meanwhile, the MTPVT Avira ship also left Singapore Harbor on the same day as Malaysia's destination.

After receiving this information, Yoni continued, the Commander of the KRI Siliman-848 Marine Major (P) Robi Dwi Wijatmiko ordered his subordinates to immediately move to the scene to check the information.

When approaching the scene of the incident, a visually visible MVFu Tong ship with a length of 189 meters and a width of 31 meters was anchored a distance of 1.8 nautical miles north of Nongsa, Batam.

From the results of communication with the crew of MVFu Tong, there were 20 crew members (ABK).

"ABK is in good health with information from 19 Chinese nationals and one Myanmar citizen," said Kadispen.

In addition, according to the crew of the MVFu Tong ship, the accident occurred due to lack of communication at sea. The accident occurred in the traffic separation scheme which became a solid sailing boat route. As for the MTPVT Avira ship after the accident, it continued to cruise.

According to Yoni, until the security process has occurred until now there has been no official statement from the MVFu Tong ship agent regarding the accident.
