President Jokowi's Golden Generation Must Be Free Of Polio

East Kolaka Regent Abdul Azis intensified the National Immunization Week (PIN) for the prevention of extraordinary incidents (KLB) polio in a number of areas in East Kolaka (Koltim), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).

In addition to aiming to increase public awareness of the importance of polio immunization, this activity also presents special memory quizzes for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Elementary School (SD) children.

Abdul Azis emphasized the importance of immunization and education for children.

He hopes that all children in Indonesia can be free from polio.

To support this, he has issued a Circular (SE) related to the prevention of polio which is currently targeting all parts of Indonesia and involving health workers from various health centers.

They will immunize door-to-door to ensure that all children, especially those under the age of five, get the polio vaccine. In addition, socialization regarding the importance of immunization is also carried out to the public.

"Immunization is the right of every child and the obligation of all of us to ensure they get the best protection. Through this Polio PIN activity, we hope to achieve maximum immunization coverage so that East Kolaka is free from polio. How can we give birth to the golden generation as announced by President Jokowi, if our country is not free from folio," he said in a written statement, Sunday, August 3.

On the sidelines of the Polio PIN, the Regent also held interesting activities in the form of memory quizzes to test the knowledge of PAUD and SD children.

"We want children to be not only physically healthy but also have basic knowledge of their country. This memory quiz is one of the fun ways to learn," he added.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation from various elements, such as with the Health Office, sub-district head, village head, and community leaders so that this activity can run smoothly and achieve the expected goals.

He also invited the entire community to support this activity by bringing their children to the nearest immunization post.

"Let's succeed this Polio National Immunization Week for the future of our healthier children, free from polio for the Golden Generation as desired by Mr. Jokowi, our President," he concluded.
