BMKG: Big City Weather In Cloudy Indonesia On Monday 29 July 2024

JAKARTA - A number of big cities in Indonesia will experience rainy conditions even though the majority of regions in the country will experience cloudy weather today, according to the forecast of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

In a weather forecast broadcast from BMKG quoted from Jakarta, Monday, July 29, 2024, BMKG forecaster Syndhy Indah Pratiwi said that the weather in a number of cities on the island of Sumatra will experience cloudy conditions including Pekanbaru, Padang and Tanjung Pinang.

Thick cloudy conditions also have the potential to be experienced by the cities of Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang and Lampung. Meanwhile, Palembang experienced cloudy and Jambi conditions with running air.

Syndhy said there is the potential for rain in northern Sumatra, including in the city of Banda Aceh with the potential for light rain and Medan can experience rain accompanied by lightning.

Meanwhile, cloudy conditions dominate a number of major cities on the island of Java. BMKG predicts that Jakarta and Bandung will experience thick cloudy weather, Serang, Semarang and Surabaya will find cloudy and cloudy weather in Yogyakarta.

Light rain is predicted to occur in the Denpasar and Mataram areas, while Kupang will experience thick cloudy weather conditions.

BMKG predicts the potential for rain to occur in a number of major cities in the Kalimantan region, including thunderstorms in Tanjung Selor and Pontianak as well as light rain in Palangkaraya and Banjarmasin. Meanwhile, Samarinda is predicted to experience thick cloudy conditions.

In Sulawesi, Manado has the potential to experience sunny cloudy, Gorontalo, Makassar and Kendari cloudy and light rain in the Mamuju and Palu areas.

For eastern Indonesia, there is the potential for heavy rain in the Jayawijaya area and moderate rain in Nabire, Jayapura and Merauke as well as light rain in Ternate. Ambon has the potential to experience thick cloudy weather, fog in Sorong and running air in Manokwari.

BMKG also included a number of areas in the alert category for the impact of heavy rains including Aceh, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and North Sumatra.
