Responding Budi During The 2024 Presidential Election, PKB Can Relieve Anies-Sohibul Duet

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO), Dedi Kurnia Syah, assessed that PKB could support the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman duo in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

According to him, this potential can occur as a reward for PKS' support for the Anies-Muhaimin Iskandar pair in the 2024 presidential election.

"If the PKB is consistent, then they could return the favor in the Jakarta Pilkada by supporting the candidate from PKS, Sohibul Iman as Anies' companion," he said, Sunday, July 28, 2024.

"Moreover, in my view, PKB itself does not yet have a figure who can raise Anies Baswedan's electability. Ida Fauziyah, for example, in Jakarta electability is still far from Sohibul," continued Dedi.

Therefore, he sees that the 'fight' between PKS and PKB ahead of the Jakarta Pilkada will tend to be softer. Moreover, plus the factor as the dominant political party in the Jakarta area, PKS has the opportunity to propose Anies' companion rather than PKB.

"Not to mention if we talk about Anies' closeness to PKS, then it is possible that he will take a companion from PKS," added Dedi.

In addition, PKS and Sohibul Iman have their own advantages after the NasDem Party officially carried out and submitted the issue of the candidate for deputy governor to Anies Baswedan.

"Although (the cawagub) must get the blessing of all political parties carrying Anies, currently there are PKS and NasDem. But after all, it is a great opportunity for PKS and Sohibul Iman to move forward with Anies Baswedan," he said.
