JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung revealed that the 40 percent biodiesel (B40) mixed fuel program will only run fully in February 2025.
Yuliot said this was because this program had to go through a transition period of 1.5 months before it was fully implemented. In fact, this program should have started running on January 1, 2025.
"For the mandatory January 1. But there is (transition), maybe only 1.5 months from January 1 to February," Yuliot told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, January 3.
Yuliot added that this transition period is needed to adapt the technology needed for this new fuel. In addition, for B40 mixing from the previous in the form of B35.
"For the transition period, it costs stock and also adapts to technology. Some are in the mixing process which was B35 to B40, there is technological adjustment. We give about 1.5 months," explained Yuliot.
