Polemic Of Drug-Prone Zona Label In Kalipasir, Police Claim For The Sake Of: Community Education

Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKBP Iver Son Manossoh, dismissed the bad effects after the drug raid in Kalipasir, Menteng. According to him, the 2024 Nila Jaya operation carried out by the police in Kalipasir some time ago was to educate the public about the dangers of drugs.

"To fortify students from the dangers of drugs, build self-resilience in drug-prone zones and campaign for joint movements to fight drugs," he said when confirmed by VOI, Monday, July 22.

Kasat emphasized that the essence of the police's duty is to prevent, arrest dealers and drug dealers. This was done to prevent the increase in drug abuse victims.

"After Ops Nila Jaya 2024 in Kalipasir, it is deemed necessary to educate the public, especially children and students and the environment about the dangers of drugs," he said.

AKBP Iver Son said that his party also held drug education at SMPN 18 Menteng, Central Jakarta on Monday, July 22.

Drug danger education activities were carried out at SMPN 18 Menteng because the students at the school were residents of Kalipasir, Menteng.

Previously, residents of RW 08 Kalipasir, Menteng, Central Jakarta, admitted that they were worried that it would be difficult to find work after the area was called a red zone for drug dealers and users.

"Many residents complained to me. They objected to the label issued by the police. The police should have seen the impact of the label," said Kebon Sirih Village Head Heru Tri Prasetyo when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday.

According to Heru, the red zone has many good and bad impacts. This is because not all Kalipasir residents are drug users.

"Not all residents in RW 08 are drug users. Maybe the Resort Police can clarify that not all residents are drug users. The mention of the red zone can have an impact on residents so it is difficult to get a job, one of which is," said Heru.

In addition, Heru said, his party would invite the Central Jakarta Police to explain the mention of the red zone. On the other hand, he also appreciated the steps taken by the Resort Police in disclosing drug cases.
