JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Johar Baru Police has not yet received evidence of CCTV camera footage during the mugging action experienced by Mentari, a journalist for the Antara news agency on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Galur Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta.

Johar Baru Police Chief Kompol Ubaidillah said, from the results of CCTV checking at the scene, no evidence of CCTV footage was found.

"The CCTV check behind the Galur gas station with results (active but not recording). Then check the CCTV behind the Gasoline Pom (SPBU Galur) with CCTV results active but not recording, it turns out that one server with CCTV is next to a gas station installed by RT Galur," said Kompol Ubaidillah in a statement received by VOI, Tuesday, July 16.

From the victim's statement to the police, when the victim was waiting for an online motorcycle taxi on the side of the road, suddenly the perpetrator came riding a motorbike slowly.

"The perpetrator snatched the cellphone that the victim was holding. Then the victim responded by shouting loudly but because the situation was quiet there were only passing vehicles so no one responded to the victim," he said.

The victim's cellphone was then taken away by the perpetrator at the Galur gas station (SPBU). Until now, the case is still under investigation by the Johar Baru Police.

Previously, a journalist from the Antara news agency was targeted by a mugging victim on the side of Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 15, afternoon.

His Samsung Galaxy A71 brand cellphone was stolen by the perpetrator. The incident occurred when the victim of Mentari was ordering an online motorcycle taxi at around 15.00 WIB.

However, the cellphone was actually seized by the street criminal. From the victim's statement, after his cellphone was confiscated, he shouted thief, but no one helped him.
