Jusuf Hamka How Golkar Holds Ridwan Kamil In West Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Executive Director of the Madani Circle, Ray Rangkuti, said that the maneuver of the Golkar Party that offered the name Jusuf Hamka as a companion to Kaesang Pangarep in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada was a way to keep Ridwan Kamil from contesting the West Java gubernatorial election.

According to him, until now there have been no signs from the Golkar Party DPP to carry RK as the cagub in the Jakarta Pilkada. Therefore, the emergence of Jusuf Hamka's name indirectly is a declaration that RK will still be carried in the West Java Pilgub.

My view, if until July 15, there are no signs to Jakarta, meaning Golkar and RK chose West Java. So Kaesang's statement will be paired with Jusuf Hamka showing Golkar's decision to determine the RK in West Java," said Ray, Sunday, July 14, 2024.

"It was already Golkar's declaration that RK would not go to Jakarta. He will be in West Java. So it is no longer a hard code, but it has already been declared," he continued.

He said the Golkar Party would certainly not release the opportunity to re-elect RK in West Java, because its electability was still the highest in West Java. Meanwhile in Jakarta, the electability of the former Mayor of Bandung is still under Anies Baswedan.

Although it is likely that he will face Dedi Mulyadi, who is promoted by the Gerindra Party, the opportunity for RK to win the West Java gubernatorial election is very large armed with his electability which is far above Dedi.

"It's just who the deputy is. It could be that RK meets Nasdem. There is Ilham Habibie. Meanwhile, Gerindra may be traditionalistic, will be with PKS in West Java. I just don't know who the representative will be," concluded Ray Rangkuti.
