There Are Still Elected Candidates Who Have Not Reported LHKPN, KPU: We Have Reminded You The Most Times

JAKARTA - A number of candidates for legislative members (caleg) elected for the 2024 General Election have not submitted reports on the assets of state administrators (LHKPN). In fact, LHKPN reporting is a mandatory requirement for elected candidates to be inaugurated.

Acting Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Mochammad Afifuddin admitted that his party had repeatedly reminded political parties (parpol) to be elected candidates who would be state officials to deposit LHKPN. However, some of them have started reporting.

"We have also written to the parties related to this LHKPN. We have written and reminded the umpteenth time to write and remind. Several parties have also reported that we have received some of the evidence of the LHKPN report yesterday," Afif said at the KPU RI Office, Central Jakarta, Friday, July 12.

Afif said that the KPU still gave selected candidates time to submit receipts for reporting assets reported to the KPK, which must be submitted to the KPU no later than 21 days.

"We'll see until the inauguration period. Hopefully, reporting everything can be an incident because it hasn't been conveyed yet," said Afif.

Previously, Afif had sent an official letter asking his staff to remind the political parties that passed the 2024 Legislative Election so that the elected candidates immediately reported the LHKPN.

This has also been regulated in Article 52 of the General Election Commission Regulation Number 6 of 2024 concerning the Determination of Elected Candidate Pairs, Determination of Chairs, and Determination of Elected Candidates in General Elections.

The stipulation, before the KPU conveys the elected candidates for members of the DPR, members of the DPD, members of the provincial DPRD, and members of the district/city DPRD, the elected candidates concerned are required to report assets to the agency authorized to examine the wealth reports of the nagara organizers.

In the event that the elected candidate does not submit a receipt of the report on assets, KPU, Provincial KPU, and Regency/City KPU, it does not include the name concerned in submitting the name of the elected candidate.
