Joining Bobby Nasution As North Sumatra Governor Candidate, PKB: This Is A Big Coalition

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) officially submitted a nomination recommendation to Bobby Nasution to become a candidate for Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) in the 2024 Pilkada. This recommendation decree (SK) was given directly to the Mayor of Medan.

"In the decree, he gave a decision and appointed Mas Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution as a candidate for Governor of North Sumatra," said Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 7.

Jazilul said that Bobby had now pocketed recommendations for the eviction of 7 parties. Several parties had previously announced that they would carry President Joko Widodo's son-in-law in the North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

"There are PKB, Golkar, Gerindra, NasDem, PAN, Democrats, PPP. So, a lot. That means, this is a big coalition, if we call it, it is a super coalition that implies, showing that the light of victory is in Mas Bobby," said Jazilul.

With the commissioning recommendation, Jazilul asked Bobby to intensify communication with parties that will form a coalition to carry it in the regional elections, as well as determine the candidate for deputy governor of North Sumatra to accompany him.

"With this decree that has been sent, Mas Bobby is even faster to run, even faster to coordinate with other parties and complete his partner, because the time is relatively short, it will not take long for the 2024 Pilkada in November," he explained.

Continuing, Bobby admitted that he was grateful for the recommendations for the investigation given by PKB. He admitted that he received proposals from a number of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figures to look for cawagub from among women.

"We will hold this firmly, which we will also discuss with the coalition parties," he said.

Previously, two North Sumatra gubernatorial candidates had conducted a fit and proper test (UKK) at PKB, namely former North Sumatra Governor Edy Rahmayadi and Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution. Until finally, PKB decided to carry Bobby.

In the previous UKK process, PKB also questioned the winning strategy that Bobby and Edy will implement, to what extent is the current developing political configuration in North Sumatra.

"From this UKK, we have received a more in-depth picture of the profiles of each candidate, its winning potential, and its vision and mission, and so on," said Deputy Chairperson of PKB Hanif Dhabiri, some time ago.
