4 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Attack on West Bank's Nur Shams Camp

JAKARTA - Four people were reported killed in an Israeli attack on the Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army said the plane attacked a terrorist cell in the Nur Shams area while they were installing explosives, reported by Reuters, Wednesday, July 3.

Previously, eight Palestinians were reported killed and dozens more injured when Israeli forces bombarded several areas of Khan Younis and Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Thousands of Palestinians fled the areas bombarded by Israel.

The Israeli army (IDF) has ordered residents in several towns and villages east of Khan Younis to evacuate their homes on Monday, July 1, before tanks re-entered the area that the military had left several weeks ago.

Thousands of people who did not obey the call were forced to leave their homes in the dark overnight, when Israeli tanks and planes bombed Karara, Abassan and other areas mentioned in the evacuation order, residents and Hamas media said.

The Israeli military said its forces struck an area in Khan Younis where about 20 rockets were fired on Monday. The targets included a weapons storage facility and an operational center, it added.

It said steps were taken before the attack to ensure civilians were not harmed by allowing them to evacuate the area, referring to evacuation orders.

The Israeli military accused Hamas of using civilian infrastructure and the wider community as human shields. The militant group denied this.
