Viral, Salemba Prison Prisoner Celebrates Birthday And Photos In Prison

JAKARTA - A photo upload featuring a picture of a man cutting a cake with the caption the title "Recorded by his friend, a free salemba prison prisoner celebrating his birthday from inside the prison" went viral on Instagram social media.

This upload received a response from a number of netizens who commented on the @kabarnegri account.

In the comments, netizens stated various accusations and scathing criticism of the apparatus in the ranks of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

From VOI's observation, the @aswad.gani account wrote a comment "How can HP be passed, instead of going through a check/check process, are there any prison/rutan employees involved???? Please follow up, Mr. @jokowi @ yasonna.laoly @kemenkumhamri".

The @adepeekunn account also commented "Udh is a common secret, they also bring cellphones to pay".

However, until this news was written, there had been no official statement from the ranks of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

When confirmed by VOI, the Salemba Prison also stated that the Head of the Division had answered the viral news, but without explaining in detail the alleged existence of cellphones in the Salemba Prison.

Meanwhile, Public Relations of the Directorate General of Corrections, Deddy Eduar Eka Saputra, stated that his party had known about the information.

"Regarding this, action has been taken by the Salemba Prison," he said briefly.
