The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) summoned a number of witnesses regarding the destruction of the church that occurred on Jalan Budhi, Cawang, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta.

"Still in the investigation stage, we are still summoning witnesses to prove the criminal acts committed by the destruction of the church," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to VOI, Thursday, June 27.

Kombes Nicolas ensured that the church problem in Kramat Jati was triggered by disputes between fellow church residents.

"So it is necessary to resolve it from both parties and the church which is the leading sector to resolve it," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the destruction of the church, the police are still pursuing the perpetrators whose identities have been identified.

"Professionally and procedurally, the East Jakarta Metro Police will conduct an investigation and disclose the perpetrators of the vandalism to be able to account for their actions before the law," he said.

Previously, it was reported that two groups of church congregants were involved in clashes on Jalan Budhi, Cawang, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, Monday night, June 24. They attack each other using wood and stone.

It was later discovered that the clashes began with a ban on worshiping the congregation of the Anungerah Church of Christ (GABK).

"We have a schedule for mothers worship every Monday. At that time there were several mothers who came to worship, they were prohibited," said Pastor GABK, HS Watimuri when confirmed, Tuesday, June 25.
