Hyundai EV Owners In The US Will Get Free NACS Adapters Starting Next Year

Hyundai announced that it will provide a zero dollar North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter next year for owners Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Kona Electric.

The automotive manufacturer from South Korea also revealed that the owner of the Hyundai EV who purchases or rents his vehicle before January 31, 2025, can ask for an online adapter through My Hyundai.

"This official Hyundai adapter will provide Hyundai EV drivers equipped with CCS ports with access to more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers in the United States," Hyundai said as quoted by InsideEVs, Thursday, December 26.

In addition, the Genesis premium brand will also take a similar approach with details to be announced early next year.

The manufacturer with the 'H' lopsided logo is one of the many brands that makes a big step in providing electric vehicles that have been embedded in the NACS port.

This is evidenced by Hyundai launching Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9 2025 which have included NACS plugs from its factories and will use conventional CCS style plugs with separate adapters.

Although the port system is different, the manufacturer guarantees that the use of this adapter will not affect the charging speed for its electric vehicles.
