JAKARTA The West Jakarta Metro Police arrested two thieves of cables belonging to PLN on the riverbank on Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke RT 2/1, Pekojan, Tambora. The theft was carried out by the two perpetrators on Tuesday, June 25 using a number of tools that are now confiscated by the police as evidence. "The two perpetrators with the initials GS (39) and AN (42) were arrested while carrying out the theft of PLN cables at that location," said Tambora Police Chief of West Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Donny Agung Harvida, Wednesday, June 26. Donny explained that the perpetrators acted using equipment such as crowbars, headsaws, iron saws, paving, screwdrivers, hammers and silets. Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Rahmat Wibowo said, the two perpetrators acted at night, during a quiet situation, at around 02.46 WIB, on the riverbank, Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke RT 2/1, Pekojan, Tambora, West Jakarta.

"When members of the Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Team carried out regional patrols, they suspected the whereabouts of the perpetrators on the riverbanks. After a search was carried out, several pieces of evidence were found," said Rahmat. The perpetrator also admitted that they were stealing cables belonging to PLN. The stolen cables will be sold to a shelter.

"The two perpetrators are unemployed who are determined to carry out their actions to meet their daily needs," he said. Furthermore, the suspects are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of seven years.
