TANGERANG - Soekarno Hatta Customs and Excise secured two women suspected of smuggling the export of lobster seeds (BBL) worth Rp9.8 billion to Singapore. The two women were named Rahma Fitri and Suci Sugi.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office Gatot Sugeng Wibowo said that apart from securing the perpetrators, his party also found evidence in the form of two suitcases containing 70 packages with a total of 78,750 seeds, 000 heads.

He explained that the origin of the smuggling was revealed starting from information from the team of analysts at the airport about the alleged smuggling of illegal lobster clear seeds. The mode is carried through passenger luggage.

Based on this information, said Gatot, his party together with the BBKIPM Jakarta I team checked passenger departure data abroad.

The joint team also suspected that the suspects were traveling to Singapore via the CGK-SIN flight route with Batik Air airline on June 22, 2024 at 12.15 WIB. Until finally they can be secured, then an inspection is carried out.

"Based on the information (Suci Sugi) works as a housewife and the other (Rahma Fitri) as sales promotion girls (SPG). They were ordered by a controller from Indonesia to take the suitcase around the airport," he said.

Based on the confessions of Suci and Rahma, they were ordered by a controller with a salary of Rp. 3 million rupiah. Currently, the police are investigating.

For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with violating the customs crime of Article 102A of Law Number 17 of 2006. This is about Amendments to Law Number 10 of 1995 concerning Customs.

"The threat of a maximum sentence of 10 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 5 billion. Against evidence, 78,750 BBLs have been released into the wild on Carita Beach, Pandeglang, Banten," he said.
