JAKARTA - The US military completed a 90-minute wave of attacks against Iran, marking another round of attacks after four consecutive nights.

"CENTCOM launched precision munitions against coastal defense systems and storage and launch sites for cruise missiles on the Great Tunb Island during the 90-minute wave. The attack further weakened Iran's ability to attack merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz," said the US Central Command as reported by CNN, Wednesday, July 15.

The Greater Tunb Island is one of the small islands located near the western entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.

CNN reported on the importance of several islands in March, including Tunb, which is included in what a researcher called Iran's "defensive fortress".

The attack began at 6 a.m. and ended at 7:30 a.m. ET, the military said. Central Command also posted a video that appeared to show thermal imaging of the attack.
