Not Officially Carrying Anies In The DKI Gubernatorial Election, This Is The Reason For PKS

JAKARTA - The PKS Central Executive Board (DPP) has yet to officially announce that it will carry Anies Baswedan as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Head of Public Relations of the PKS DPP Ahmad Mabruri said that the selection of regional head candidates runs in parallel.

Especially for strategic areas such as Jakarta, PKS will determine who will be carried at the last second. Although, in recent times PKS has given a signal to support Anies.

"DKI is usually like eating hot porridge, from the edge first, sir. Eastern Indonesia, at the end, we have decided. But the middle one, it will usually be later. Because heroes usually come later," said Mabruri at the PKS DPP office, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 19.

Although the DKI Jakarta PKS Regional Leadership Council (DPW) has proposed the name Anies, the DPP does not want to immediately approve.

"(DPW) has (proposed), but the decision remains with the DPP. The PKB DPW has also proposed, but it is still in the PKB DPP. So, everything is still in the central leadership," said Mabruri.

Meanwhile, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu previously claimed to have received an offer for the position of deputy governor of DKI Jakarta from the political party of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which carried Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election.

In the midst of this issue, Mabruri emphasized that the offer of cawagub position was not a consideration for PKS to be attractive in providing recommendations for the inauguration of cagub to Anies.

Communication with a number of political parties, according to Mabruri, is a consideration for PKS to determine the candidate to be promoted. Given, not a single party can carry it alone in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"It's not like that. Right, everything goes parallel to the meeting. But for DKI, we are still communicating with our coalition candidates. That is what is still not finished," he added.
