Money For Construction Of Mosques In Southeast Maluku Is Corrupted, The Project Becomes Stalled

The investigating team of the Southeast Maluku District Prosecutor's Office confiscated evidence in the form of cash worth Rp. 150,000,000 in the account of Bank Maluku belonging to the construction committee of the Nurul Janah Ohoi Nerongung (Malra) Mosque.

"The confiscation of this evidence is related to the handling of cases of alleged corruption and misuse of grant funds from the Southeast Maluku Regency Government for the construction of the Nurul Janah Ohoi Kerongg Mosque for the 2022 fiscal year," said Head of Intel Kejari Malra Avel Haezer as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 19.

According to him, the confiscation of evidence was carried out based on the Seizure Order of the Head of the Southeast Maluku District Attorney Number Print-03/Q.1.19/Fd.1/12/2024 dated December 16, 2024.

The confiscation action was carried out to complete the evidence of the case and the efforts of the investigative team to save and restore state finances.

Furthermore, the investigating team of the Malra Kejari submitted the evidence to the Head of the Subdivision for the Development of the Southeast Maluku Kejari,Russia Maria Renjaan, to be deposited in the prosecutor's deposit account through the Tual Branch of Bank Rakyat Indonesia.

The evidence was received directly by Agus Harianto as the Head of the Indonesian BRI Tual branch.

The committee for the construction of the Nurul Jannah Ohoi Neroneng Mosque, Kei Besar District (Malra) in 2022 was formed according to the Decree of the Village Head/Ohoi Number: 470/O.N/2021 dated February 29, 2021.

The decree was signed by shoti Noor Refra, represented by committee chairman Abdul Hamid Ngilitubun and treasurer Mela Fitriyani Barayanan to submit a proposal for the construction of a mosque to the Malra Regency Government Cq, Head of the Criminal Service Section.

The budget plan (RAB) for the construction of a mosque in 2022 which was approved by the district government in the amount of Rp1,000,000,000 (one billion rupiah)

However, in its implementation, the progress of the construction of the mosque, which should have been completed in 2023, has become neglected. Meanwhile, the entire budget for the mosque construction grant has been disbursed 100 percent.

But until now the construction of the mosque is not in accordance with the realization of development in the field and cannot be used.
