East Jakarta Metro Police encountered problems in the process of investigating the case of embezzlement of rental cars belonging to victims of BH alias B, from Jakarta who were beaten to death by a mob in Sumbersoko Village, Sukolilo District, Pati Regency, Central Java.
East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly said that the problem was due to the reported initials RP allegedly using a fake ID card with a fictitious address.
"(The problem) of the reported ID card is also suspected to be fake and not registered," said Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly when confirmed, Wednesday, June 19.
Kombes Nicolas explained that the reported initials RP gave his address to the reporter (BH victim who died in Pati) turned out to be inaccurate or fictitious.
"Currently, members are still conducting investigations in Pati," he said.
The Curanmor Unit team from the East Jakarta Metro Police has left for the Pati area since last Monday. Various efforts have also been made by East Jakarta Metro Police investigators with cases of car embezzlement reported by BH victims around February 2024.
"East Jakarta Metro Police investigators, when they received a police report, immediately responded to the report and carried out an investigation by looking for the whereabouts of the car that was reported to have been embezzled. Then they conducted an examination of the victim and other witnesses," he said.

BH alias B is a rental car entrepreneur from Jakarta. Before B found his car in Sukolilo, the victim had made a report of embezzlement of his car at the East Jakarta Metro Police.
"Regarding the case that happened to the victim in Pati, on June 10, 2024, the East Jakarta Metro Police have sent 4 members of the ranmor unit to coordinate with the Pati Police to jointly handle the case that befell the victim," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to reporters, Wednesday, June 12.
The case report was reported by victim B on February 21, 2024. Meanwhile, the fraud incident occurred 1 year ago, on November 2, 2023, to be precise.
The incident began when a reported person with the initials RP contacted victim B to rent a car at the victim B's rental company in the East Jakarta area.
"Previously the RP in August had rented a car, then in November the reported party had not paid the rent for two months. And only paid for one month. So that towards the end of the rental, the victim called the reported party but the number reported was not active and finally the victim checked the GPS in the rented car and found the car had been rented RP to someone in the Banten area," said Kombes Nicolas.
After knowing the car was in Banten, the victim had time to go to Banten but the vehicle had changed numbers and was held by someone else.
"Victim B also had time to summon RP according to the address in the rental agreement but there was no response. Finally, on February 21, 2024, the victim reported to the East Jakarta Metro Police and handled by the Ranmor Unit," he said.
From the report, three people were questioned by the East Jakarta Metro Police Ranmor Unit. From the results of the examination, it turned out that the car had changed hands. The victim also told investigators that the car had crossed to Sumatra.
Furthermore, investigators coordinated with the victim to inform the whereabouts of the car monitored from GPS.
However, over time without any coordination with the East Jakarta Metro Police, the victim monitored the vehicle in the Pati area.
"Essentially, the East Jakarta Metro Police will handle this embezzlement case and we will bring the vehicles at the Pati Police, because they are evidence of a case handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police Ranmor Unit," he said.
Kombes Nicolas explained, later the Pati Police will handle the case that occurred in Pati and the East Jakarta Metro Police in handling cases related to car embezzlement in the case of Article 372 of the Criminal Code.
"Until now, the investigation is still ongoing. The reported initials RP until now we have sent a clarification invitation so far he has not come. And there is also 1 witness who has not been present until now and his address is not true and that person is not there. This case is still under investigation," he concluded.
The case of embezzlement of this car resurfaced after a rental boss from Jakarta who was about to take his car in Pati Regency died, while three of his colleagues were critical.
