Medan Citizens, Here's A Message From Mayor Bobby Nasution Regarding The COVID-19 Vaccination

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, urged the whole community not to hesitate to take part in the vaccination program either carried out by the government or independently. Because the COVID-19 vaccination is halal, safe, and has no side effects.

"In order to prevent the wider spread of COVID-19 in the city of Medan, the people of Medan City should not be afraid to be vaccinated", said Bobby in his Instagram post on the @bobbynst account, Tuesday, March 16.

To realize the slogan of Medan Pulih (Medan Recovers), Medan City Government will gradually give vaccines to the whole community. Both those who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 or those who have never.

"Vaccination creates herd immunity and individual immunity against COVID-19", explained Bobby.

So why do you need a COVID-19 vaccine?

According to Bobby, vaccines can reduce transmission and death rates due to COVID-19. Vaccines can also encourage the formation of herd immunity. And, protect and strengthen the health system as a whole.

"Maintain productivity and minimize the socio-economic impact", wrote the socialization pamphlet on Bobby's account.

It is known that the COVID-19 vaccine requires twice the injection dose. The first injection is done to trigger an initial immune response. The second injection is to strengthen the immune response that has been formed.

The vaccine takes 14-28 days after the second injection to build up the optimum amount of antibodies to provide maximum protection.
