Eid Prayers In South Sorong Regency Centered In Kokoda

JAKARTA - The South Sorong Regency Government (Pemkab), Southwest Papua, plans to hold centralized Eid al-Adha prayers in Kokoda District, on June 17.

Secretary of the Sorsel Islamic Holiday Committee (PHBI), Mahmud Seknum, in Teminabuan, said that the Eid prayer in Teminabuan would be held in their respective mosques.

"In accordance with the direction of the chairman of PHBI Sorsel, that the implementation of the district-level Eid al-Adha prayer is centered in Kokoda District, precisely in Tariff Village, while in Teminabuan it will be held in their respective mosques," said Secretary of State, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, June 15.

He said, as well as the implementation of the mobile takbiran parade, it would also be returned to each of the organizing mosques.

"The implementation of Eid al-Adha prayers in Kokoda will be attended by the Regent of Sorsel, Samsudin Anggiluli," said the Secretary of State.

The PHBI committee, he said, was currently building communication with the Sorsel Regency Government regarding the implementation of Eid al-Adha prayers both in Kokoda and in Teminabuan.

"With the momentum of Eid al-Adha, it can increase the faith and piety of Muslims in Sorsel and continue to build brotherhood with other religious communities," said the Secretary.

Seknum mengatakan, memasuki tahun politik ini, Muslim dapat memberikan rasa aman, dan terus bersama-sama menjaga situasi Kamtibmas di Sorsel.

"Let us respect each other so that this political year we can protect ourselves and maintain tolerance and brotherhood among religious believers," concluded the Secretary.
