Troubled Wife Cheating, Drunk Man Desperately Jumps From Pasar Rebo Flyover

JAKARTA - A drunken man attempted suicide by jumping from the Pasar Rebo Flyover, Jalan TB Simatupang, RT 05/05, Susukan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta, Sunday night, June 9.

Luckily, the man's life was saved by fire and rescue officers (Gulkarmat) in East Jakarta and members of the TNI.

"Initially, residents saw a man wanting to commit suicide by jumping from the Pasar Rebo flyover. Residents immediately contacted the fire call center to ask for evacuation. The evacuation process lasted an hour, the victim managed to survive," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Monday, June 10.

The victim was identified as Hanif (34), a resident of Cibubur. The victim came to the scene of the incident on a motorbike by his friend.

During the trip, the victim had complained about the problems he was facing.

"The motive was allegedly because his wife was cheating and then the victim stopped at the Pasar Rebo flyover and immediately jumped," he said.

The evacuation process was carried out by 15 rescue officers with 3 supporting cars. Thanks to the alertness of the officers, the victim was successfully evacuated.

"It is suspected that he was drunk. The evacuation was assisted by two members of the Kopassus TNI. The evacuation was safely under control," he said.
