Criticism Of The Council Can Be An Evaluation Material For KPK Leaders

JAKARTA - Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri agrees with the criticism submitted by the Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas) Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean regarding institutions. What was conveyed in a hearing (RDP) with Commission III of the DPR could be an evaluation material.

This was conveyed by Ali in response to Tumpak's complaint in front of Commission III of the DPR, Wednesday, June 5. According to him, the KPK leadership must evaluate itself after a lot of attention.

"I think Mr. Tumpak's criticism is very good to be the subject of the current KPK's evaluation, including the current KPK leadership, must conduct an evaluation," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 6.

In addition, Ali also hopes that all parties will participate in overseeing the process of selecting candidates for leadership and supervisory boards. Thus, the chosen person is committed to eradicating corruption and integrity.

"We hope that in the future, the KPK leadership will truly have integrity and really want to work to complete corruption agendas," he said.

As previously reported, the Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, had confided during a hearing (RDP), Wednesday, June 5. He said, the KPK leadership is often resistant if they are involved in ethical violations.

"In ethics, there is a resistance from the KPK leadership if the KPK leadership is involved in this alleged ethical violation," said Tumpak.

"The summons for us to hear the statement is very difficult for us to get and the time is always carried out. Because the leadership has many tasks and so on, so we don't keep what we have scheduled. Including the trial as well," he continued.

Tumpak also complained about the behavior of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, who was facing a case of alleged ethical violations.

It is known that Ghufron sued the KPK Council to the Jakarta Administrative Court for alleged ethical violations. He is suspected of abusing his authority in the process of administering the mutation of an ASN in the Ministry of Agriculture.

"There is also resistance from the KPK leadership, if the KPK leadership has been involved in the alleged ethical violation as reported recently," said Tumpak.

"Yes, it is one of the KPK leaders who is being investigated in an ethics trial by the supervisory board on public reports, instead reporting the supervisory board to law enforcement officials on charges of misusing authority and defamation and filing a lawsuit to the Administrative Court and judicial review to the Supreme Court," he continued.
