Bawaslu Chairmans Natuna Sanctioned With DKPP Warning Because Of Wrongness In Handling Money Political Cases

JAKARTA - The Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) has imposed warning sanctions on the chairman Siswandi and Sudarsono members of the Natuna Regency Bawaslu, Riau Islands.

Chairman of the DKPP Heddy Lugito said Siswandi and Sudarsono were proven to have violated the code of ethics and guidelines for the conduct of election organizers.

He said, the cause of Siswandi and Sudarsono being given sanctions began with a report from a community group from Natuna who reported the two of them on their decision regarding the alleged money politics committed by one of the Riau Islands Province candidates from one of the parties.

He explained that Siswandi and Sudarsono had made the wrong decision, the actions taken by the team from the legislative candidate did not fulfill the elements of the election criminal offense.

"Decided one to grant the complainants' complaints in part, two to impose warning sanctions on Siswandi as chairman and concurrently member of Bawaslu Natuna and integrated two Sudarsono as a member of Bawaslu Natuna Regency," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 28.

He explained that the Natuna community group did not only report Siswandi and Sudarsono, but the community group also reported Ila Nurlaila, who is also a member of the Natuna Regency Bawaslu.

However, Ila was not proven to have violated the code of ethics and violation of the guidelines for the conduct of election organizers.

"Rehabilitating the good names of the three Ila Nurlaila as a member of Bawaslu Natuna Regency," he said.

Previously, the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) of East Bunguran District, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands found allegations of money politics practices in the area.

Chairman of the Panwaslu, Bunguran Timur Subdistrict, Dede Muhammad Ramli, said that he found the practice while monitoring campaign activities for one of the election participants for the Riau Islands Provincial DPRD candidate for the Natuna-Anambas electoral district at a hotel in East Bunguran District (13/12).

He explained that the campaign team from the election participants was caught giving money with a value of Rp. 150,000 to each participant who was present at the activity. "We have photo evidence, they gave Rp. 100,000 denominations and Rp. 50,000 rupiah," he said.

He has reported the alleged violation of the campaign to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Natuna Regency, because this activity is a campaign activity of the election participants in accordance with the Campaign Notification Certificate Number STTPK/78/XII/YAN.2.2/2023/DITINTELKAM.
