Jokowi and Three Former Vice Presidents Attend MPR 2026 Annual Meeting

JAKARTA - The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) confirmed that a number of former presidents and vice presidents will attend the MPR Annual Session at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 14.

Deputy Chairman of the MPR Eddy Soeparno said former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was one of the figures who had confirmed his presence. In addition to Jokowi, three former vice presidents were also confirmed to be present. They are Jusuf Kalla, Boediono, and Ma'ruf Amin.

"From what we have obtained, former President Mr. Joko Widodo will be present. We also received confirmation from former vice president Mr. Jusuf Kalla, Mr. Boediono will also be present. Mr. KH Ma'ruf Amin will also be present," said Eddy.

A number of families of former presidents and vice presidents are also scheduled to attend the 2026 MPR Annual Meeting. Eddy said Sinta Nuriyah, wife of the late President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) and wife of the late Vice President Hamzah Haz were included in the list of guests who had confirmed their attendance.

Even so, the MPR is still waiting for confirmation from a number of other figures invited in the series of state agendas. The MPR RI Annual Session is part of the series of state agendas ahead of the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to deliver a State of the Nation Address at the Annual Session of the MPR RI. After that, Prabowo will also attend a joint session of the DPR and DPD RI.

In the afternoon, Prabowo is scheduled to deliver a speech related to the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) 2027 and the Financial Note in the DPR RI Plenary Meeting.

The MPR Annual Session is one of the important agendas ahead of the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence which falls on Monday, August 17.
