JAKARTA - The head of the PDIP Party faction at the Regional Representatives Council (DPRD DKI Gembong Warsono assessed that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan gave too much freedom to his subordinates by giving them the authority to purchase land for a house with IDR 0 Down Payment

In the end, his subordinates abused it. Namely the appointment of the inactive Executive Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory C. Pinontoan, in the case of alleged corruption in the purchase of land without down payment (DP).

"Governor Anies gave the authority (to buy the land) and maybe that authority was being misused", said Gembong when contacted, Friday, March 12.

According to Gembong, since the beginning, there was a problem with the homeownership program that Anies Baswedan promised during the 2017 Regional Head Election campaign. In that sense, it is difficult to implement in the field.

Because, said Gembong, IDR 0 Down Payment was not limited to the housing program because it was related to other policies. Among them is banking as a distributor of home loans.

Indeed, the realization of new housing was built in one location in the Pondok Kelapa area, East Jakarta. Currently, there are less than 1.000 families living in the IDR 0 Down Payment house.

In fact, the target number of IDR 0 Down Payment houses to be built during the leadership of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is 232.214 units. In fact, the number of applicants for the program is quite high. Unfortunately, many applicants do not pass verification.

"The program is not a single policy. It has something to do with banking policies as well. This means that this program can be implemented if it is synchronized with several regulations relating to credit", said Gembong.

Then, regarding the allotment. The program, Gembong said, should have been intended for residents who could not afford to buy a house.

"The program should be reserved for low-income people. But with the condition that they have to earn 7 million and above, it is not for low-income people anymore", said Gembong.

"So the question is, who is this program for? It's not what was planned from the start", he continued.
