BANJARMASIN - South Kalimantan Police confiscated 500 tons of coal from mining without a permit (peti) alias illegal in Ida Manggala Village, Sungai Raya District, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency (HSS).
"These 500 tons of coal are located in the stockpile, where the perpetrators temporarily stored the coal from the coffin," said Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police AKBP Tri Hambodo in Banjarmasin as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 17.
The action against the coffin was carried out on Thursday (16/5) night when officers carried out routine activities that were increased in the form of patrols in areas prone to illegal mining activities.

After being checked by officers, it turned out that it was outside the mining business permit (IUP) which was directly adjacent to PT Binuang Mitra Bersama (BMB) on the left and right sides of PT Pro Sarana Cipta and PT Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM).
Tri said the modus operandi was that the perpetrator carried out mining activities without a permit on behalf of the company PT. BRH as the contractor of PT. PSC which has mining permits.

Tri admitted that investigators were still conducting in-depth examinations of all witnesses and the title of the case to determine the suspect.
"So the case is still developing, when it fulfills the two pieces of evidence, the suspect will be immediately determined," he said.
The suspect charged under Article 158 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining with a penalty of five years in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 billion.
