South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Names Suspect In Village Internet Corruption Case In Muba

PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named a suspect suspected of being a corruption case in the installation of village communication networks or village internet at the Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMD) of Musi Banyuasi Regency (Muba) for the 2019-2023 fiscal year.

Head of the Legal Information Section of the South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Vanni Yulia Eka Sari, said that the determination of suspect R in the alleged corruption case in the installation of village communication networks at the Musi Banyuasin Regency PMD Office was based on an investigation warrant from the Head of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Number: PRINT-01/L.6/Fd.1/01/2024 dated January 2, 2024.

"The investigative team has collected evidence and evidence, so that based on sufficient preliminary evidence as stipulated in Article 184 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code, today one suspect was determined, namely R as an ASN person at the PMD Office of Musi Banyuasin Regency," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 15.

Previously, suspect R had been examined as a witness and based on the results of the examination there was sufficient evidence to be named a suspect, the Head of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office immediately issued a letter determining the suspect number: TAP-06/L.6.5/Fd.1/05/2024 dated May 15, 2024.

Vanni said the special criminal investigation team of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office would continue to explore evidence related to the involvement of other parties who could be held criminally responsible and will immediately take other necessary legal actions in connection with the investigation.
