Pajero Driver Dies After His Car Falls Freely Into A 200 Meter Gorge In Cianjur

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Resort Police, West Java, investigated a single accident that resulted in the death of the Pajero driver with the number F 1364 GH on behalf of AWR (32), a resident of Tanggeung District. The car he was driving entered a 200 meter deep ravine. Head of Gakkum Satlantas Cianjur Police Ipda Ika Cakra Mustika said the single accident that occurred in Sukajadi Village, Cibinong District, began when the vehicle driven by the victim drove from Cianjur to Sindangbarang. "When entering a sharp road in the Cibinong area, it is suspected that the driver could not control the speed of the vehicle, so he plunged into a 200-meter deep ravine with the condition of a ringsek car barely shaped," he said when contacted in Cianjur, Antara, Wednesday, May 8. The driver died on the spot. Even the process of evacuating the victim was hampered because of the difficulty of the terrain to reach the bottom of the ravine and lift the victim's body up and then taken to the local hospital. From the results of the interim inspection, he said, it was suspected that the driver was not careful and could not control the speed of the vehicle, so he lost control and went into a ravine on the side of the road. However, his party will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. "For the temporary assumption, the victim who was driving alone was not careful and did not control the terrain, resulting in a single accident, but to be sure we will carry out an investigation involving the Transportation Service," he said. Meanwhile, the testimony of eyewitnesses stated that the white Pajero car driven by a man was traveling at high speed from Cianjur to Sindangbarag, when entering a sharp corner in Sukajadi Village, suddenly swerved to the right and immediately plunged into the ravine. Residents and motorists who saw the incident could not do much to directly help the victim because of the deep and steepness of the ravine.

"Efforts to evacuate were hampered because the location of the car was 200 meters deep, so residents and officers had to struggle to get to the bottom and bring the body of the driver who allegedly died on the spot, after his body was successfully taken to the hospital," said witness Rusmana (26), a local resident.
