SERANG - A man with the initials PH (20) was arrested by the police for buying cigarettes using counterfeit Rp100 thousand bills at a honey shop, Ciamas Coffee area, Serang Regency.
Serang Police Chief AKBP Condro Sasongko explained that initially the owner of the Madura shop had arrested the perpetrator earlier.
"The perpetrator was arrested by the owner of a Madura shop in Kopo Ciomas Village, Mekarbaru Village, Kopo District, Serang Regency," said AKBP Condro Sasongko, Monday, May 6.
He said that the incident began when PH was spending counterfeit money with Rp100 thousand denominations to buy cigarettes and glassed tea with his colleagues at the honey shop.
After receiving a refund of Rp. 70 thousand, the perpetrator left the honey shop. However, the shop owner was suspicious, when checked it turned out to be fake.

Witnesses of the incident were taken to the Sector Police for questioning regarding the incident.
From the results of the examination, PH admitted to getting the counterfeit money from someone who bought a cash on delivery (COD) cellphone. He did not know if the money was fake.
"The suspect PH then invited his colleague to go spend the money. So, the suspect PH had just spent it at the honey shop," he said.
Satibi said that PH's colleague, with the initials FH, currently has the status of a witness.
"The suspect PH confirmed that his colleague did not know if the money given was fake. Therefore, FH is still a witness, but we are still investigating it," he concluded.
